Buitenstekloof vineyard in autumn

Our story

Rooted at Buitenstekloof

At the foot of the Langeberg mountains, Le Roux & Fourie brings family heritage, thoughtful farming and small-scale winemaking together.

Family

A story carried through generations

The Le Roux & Fourie story introduces brothers Johan and Le Roux Fourie and traces their family connection to French Huguenot ancestor Louis Fourie. Today, Buitenstekloof is the place where that family narrative meets the wines bearing their name.

Place

Shaped by mountain, limestone and fynbos

The estate describes a distinctive landscape of limestone-rich soils, surrounding fynbos and a Langeberg microclimate. These elements form the natural context for its vineyards and its account of terroir.

Approach

Hands on, from vineyard to cellar

Selective picking and careful manual handling are central to the winemaking approach described by the estate. The cellar story continues through oak maturation and patient work with each wine.
